The Arizona Republic is reporting that council members voted against a proposal to raise City of Scottsdale property taxes.
Council members rejected a proposal to raise the levy 2 percent, the maximum allowed under state law. The vote occurred Friday at a meeting to discuss the city’s 2011-12 proposed budget.
By city estimations, the move would have resulted in an additional $500,000 to the city’s general fund, which pays for basic services. Read more at AZCentral.
