Some good news for the housing market is sales of new homes are suddenly on the rise. It’s been a tough couple of years for builders, last year saw only 323,000 new homes sold in America. That is the lowest figure in almost half a century.
Although rising from a 50 year low should not be very difficult posting a 7% gain is a significant move. The incentive to buy a new home is lower than ever because of the price disparity between new homes and previously occupied ones. But the rise does signal some green shoots and some consumer optimism.
