Noticed you are meeting more people from Canada recently? That’s because our friends from the north have developed quite a taste for Arizona real estate.
Here’s a graphic from The Information Market a statistical analysis organization that was just acquired by ARMLS (Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service).
On their website this is actually an interactive graphic. In the run to the peak of the housing market much of the demand was being driven by buyers from California.
It’s been a bit of a perfect storm for Canadian buyers. At the same time as Arizona real estate was plummeting to very affordable levels the Canadian dollar was rising to parity and beyond.
There’s no reason to think this trend won’t continue. So far in 2012 12.2% visitors to www.martawalsh.com have been from Canada.
