It may still be snowy up in Michigan, Minnesota or Canada but down here in sunny Scottsdale it’s starting to feel like spring already. The weather is just amazing today, 75 degrees and sunny, and today the Arizona Diamondbacks are already reporting for duty.
The Diamondbacks are settling in to their new training facility which is located just off the Highway 101 in Scottsdale. It is slightly incorrect to say the training facility is in Scottsdale because actually on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land.
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is partnering with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies to build a Major League Baseball spring training facility on Community land. It is the first Major League Baseball spring training facility to be built on Indian land in the nation.
It’s been a tough couple of years for Dbacks fans. Lets hope the new training facilities can help them to clinch their division this year!
